While I certainly think people can make themselves even more unhappy by embracing a ‘victim’ mentality, where all happiness or unhappiness is dependent upon the actions, or non actions of others (ie: external factors, rather than internal factors), I would like to think that most people who are different from me in some way (race, religion, sex, financial means) are not inherently stupider (or smarter) – they are just different, and I cannot hope to know by cursory observation what leads them to be who they are, or to think I somehow can see where all their problems lie.
